High ambitions at George Mitchell School

Students at George Mitchell School were visited recently by two Olympic athletes.

Students at George Mitchell School were visited recently by two Olympic athletes.

Sarah McKay, Canadian born Basketball player will be representing Great Britian. Sarah, 6’7” practiced shooting hoops with George Mitchell’s basketball teacher Tom Collier 5’6”, alongside our students. “It was a tall order, but we made short work of it” joked Tom.

Paralympics athlete, Adam Knott, who is competing in the ‘Goalball’ event, blindfolded students to illustrate what it is like to be blind or partially sighted and how the game of ‘Goalball’ is played.
