Every year, for four years now, staff, guests and associated businesses enjoy an evening of fun and fundraising to raise money for ‘Challenge 2012’ – the school’s own charity to raise enough money to send to school 20 students from 12 of the poorest Olympic countries.

In our latest quiz night, 10 teams participated in the gruelling but hilarious challenge. Headteacher, Helen Jeffery, has warmed to her role as quizmaster, and is described as a warmer and more moderate version of Anne Robinson, presenter of ‘The Weakest Link’.

Tom Raw, an English teacher at George Mitchell School and team winner said “I had a really great time – it was such a laugh.”

Claire Kirwin, Deputy Head, and Organiser of the Event commented, “It’s something we do every year to raise money for Charity and to bring our local community together in a fun, relaxing environment.

Big thanks to our community and friends who took part: the Education Business Partnership, Waltham Forest College, Leyton Sixth Form College, Leyton Orient and Community Sports Programme, the Youth Support Service, Donaghies, our local Happy Shopper, school staff and their families.
